Sylvester Stallone was once again as Rocky Balboa in the movie series Creed. In the year 2015, the first installment was released. Fans loved the power-packed performances by Michael B. Jordan and Stallone.

The 76-year-old actor was seen playing the role of a supporting character in the movie and received a ton of internet accolades for his outstanding performance. His work in Creed was loved by the critics as well. In 2016, the Rocky actor won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor. But during his speech, he forgot to thank two very important people related to the movie.

Samuel L. Jackson called out Sylvester Stallone for forgetting to thank the director of Creed

 In 2016, when Sylvester Stallone won the Golden Globe for best-supporting actor, he forgot to include Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler in his speech. Many people were offended by the fact that the Rambo actor forgot to mention two significant people who were a big part of the movie. 

Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t mince words and is a firm believer in saying things the way it. Jackson right after seeing Sly’s speech Tweeted regarding, the 76-year-old actor’s statement at the award ceremony. Not just the Pulp Fiction actor but Ava DuVernay also called out Stallone for not mentioning Coogler and Jordan during his speech. Soon, Stallone realized his mistake and took it to his social media to thank his co-star and director of the movie Creed. The Rocky II actor mentioned that he foolishly forgot to mention his director and the 36-year-old actor.

Sylvester Stallone says he agreed when Samuel L. Jackson called him out

During an interview, the Over The Top actor discussed how he felt when Jackson called him out for his speech at the Golden Globe. The actor said,

“When Sam Jackson called me out on it, I totally agreed. Forgetting to thank the director? Believe me. That’s the last thing I would’ve done.”

Stallone was also nominated for the best supporting actor Oscar in 2016 for his movie Creed. When the Creed II actor talked about his nomination he was full of praises for his director Coogler. While talking about the 37-year-old director, the Cop Land actor said,

“This guy here deserved it before I deserved it — this is his baby, and I just hung on for dear life. When he brought ‘Creed’ to life, he brought me to life.”

For Coogler his 2015 drama sports movie is a family affair. Even when Stallone forgot to thank him on the Golden Globe stage, the director didn’t mention that he was disappointed. One of the reasons why Creed became such a successful movie was that people wanted to see Jordon and Stallone’s collaboration in the movie and also because of the storyline of the film.
