According to recent rumors, Denzel Washington turned down a million-dollar role with the MCU. Allegedly eyed to play a villainous role in one of Marvel Studios’ biggest upcoming films Fantastic Four, the actor adamantly refused to be a part of the franchise.

Unwilling to appear in superhero fantasy movies after earning a reputation from classic hits and dramas, Washington served Marvel with a stinging rejection. As per industry scooper Grace Randolph, Washington was offered the role of supervillain Galactus, in 2025’s Fantastic Four reboot.

Marvel Studios reached out to the actor with the offer to be a part of the MCU franchise. However, the 68-year-old actor supposedly declined the opportunity. Thus, following his rumored rejection it seems sad that someone of Washington’s talents won’t be a part of the franchise.

Following Denzel Washington’s alleged refusal to be a part of MCU’s Fantastic Four reboot, another news resurfaced from 2013, when the actor rejected a popular franchise. To be precise, it’s none other than the $7B action franchise Fast & Furious. Evidently, Washington was reached out to play the role of Mr. Nobody in Furious 7

However, just like Marvel, the actor refused the offer, despite the star power and the money involved in the movie. Thus, Deadline reported, “The studio is now looking for another big star to join the next film…Denzel Washington just turned down that opportunity, but they’ll undoubtedly get somebody important,”
