The actor made his MCU debut with the Disney+ Series, Loki as He Who Remains and he was set to be the villain for Phase 5 and Phase 6. And he was also part of Creed III, where he faced off against Michael B. Jordan’s character Adonis Creed. The actor’s performance was outstanding and he was immensely praised by the fans.
However, it seems that life had other plans for him because the Gully actor was recently accused of assaulting and harassing his 30year old girlfriend and was arrested by the New York Police Department for the same. While the actor is going to immense lengths to prove his innocence, reliable sources from the industry state that Marvel has done a few meetings with the actor’s agent about his future.
Marvel Decides Jonathan Majors’ Future in The MCU
A few days and developments after the Devotion actor’s arrest, Marvel Studios tend to refrain from making any comments on the arrest of the actor. However, Jeff Sneider, the reliable industry insider stated during the newest episode of The Hot Mic podcast about the actor’s future in the franchise. Sneider explained that despite being silent on deciding Jonathan Majors’ future in the franchise, Marvel has held with the actor’s agent to “discuss potential options going forward.”
“I’ve heard that Marvel hasn’t made any decisions regarding Jonathan Majors but they’ve met with or spoken to his agent to discuss potential options going forward.”
It is difficult to say if the actor is guilty or not because the actor’s legal team has released text messages between the couple to prove his innocence. Therefore, it will be only a matter of time before Marvel gives a statement about the actor’s future in the franchise.

Why Did Marvel Refrain From Giving a Public Statement?
The Marvel Studios are in their biggest dilemma because Da 5 Bloods actor was arrested only a few days ago, hence the studio would like to have some time before deciding the actor’s future. The fans have loved the actor since his first appearance in Loki, and his performance was so impressive that he became the villain for the next two phases of the franchise. Therefore, the studio will refrain from taking any rash and impulsive decisions.
However, even though it is not announced publicly, it is no surprise that the higher-ups at Marvel Studios have spoken with the actor’s agent and even with Majors himself. Perhaps about the recast if the actor has been proven guilty.
Why was Jonathan Majors Arrested?
On 25th March 2023, the actor was reportedly charged with assault, strangulation, and harassment of his girlfriend, and was arrested in New York. The New York Police Department responded to a 911 call where the couple was involved in domestic violence.
The police department arrested the actor and released a statement where they said that the victim informed police she was assaulted. The victim was taken to the hospital because she suffered serious injuries to her neck and head. The actor has completely denied his actions, and his legal team is trying to get him out of the mess.
