It was announced last year that Sony and Amazon were partnering to develop several Sony-Marvel shows including one with the character of Silk. The project is titled Silk: Spider Society and some writing work started this year before the Hollywood strikes. Now after a brief hiatus, it seems development of the project is resuming very soon,

As reported by Deadline, further development and the writers room are set to resume working on the project in January next year. Angela Kang, known for her contribution to The Walking Dead is set to be the showrunner on the show, with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serving as executive producers. Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures Television Studios said this about the project, (via Variety)

“We can’t wait to bring the adventures of Cindy Moon to life, thanks to the creative dream team of Chris and Phil, Angela and Amy, along with our partners at Marvel and Amazon. We know this exciting series with new and never-before-seen characters and storylines will wow audiences watching first on linear MGM+ and then around the world on Prime Video.”

This project has tremendous potential as the character can be explored with much depth and creativity owing to being a series. It remains to be seen whether it relates to the live-action film in any way or the series entries turn out to be its own separate universe.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was left in an interesting place by the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The character’s future is unknown and the fact that his identity has been erased from people’s memory creates unlimited possibilities that the character can go. Holland gave an update on the progress of a potential fourth film recently

During a press conference with the Critics Choice Association, the actor revealed that active discussions have begun regarding the same. However, a concrete idea and direction have not yet been cracked and he does not want to do another film just for a cash grab. Holland said, (via Deadline)

“All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character. Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man.

I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character.”

It remains to be seen when the character will pop up in the MCU’s future. He is expected to have some role in the upcoming Avengers films. Holland most recently starred in the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room.
