While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a relatively concise title, with developer Insomniac opting to aim for quality over quantity in its approach, rather than building a game that takes hundreds upon hundreds of hours to complete, that does not mean it is devoid of fun secrets to discover.

One fan over on Reddit already discovered the existence of a wind tunnel hidden inside a staircase leading up to an elevated train platform. After slingshotting themselves into the air, the user pulled out the new web wings and soared into the narrow space, but rather than crash, they instead found themselves hitting a bust of speed and quickly flying out of the space.

Given that this wind tunnel still includes the standard UI circles present when entering other similar tunnels throughout the game, it seems unlikely that this was a bug, but rather a clever and exciting secret left in by the developers for players to find.

Spider-Man fans have been enjoying the exciting new experience, especially the endlessly exhilarating exploration and traversal mechanics. The addition of web wings to the gameplay loop allows players to traverse the world faster than ever before, without ever taking away from the web-swinging core of the experience.

There are many other fun easter eggs and secrets to be found in the game. For example, when fighting a random crime, there is a chance that the other Spider-Man may show up to provide some assistance (while also netting you bonus XP in the process.) Afterward, players have the option to interact with their fellow webhead.

Several possible animations exist when doing this, including Peter and Miles trying to high-five awkwardly before deciding to hug each other instead. Even funnier, however, is when the two to point at each other instead in a cheeky callback to the popular meme.

Players can also find the Baxter Building, the headquarters of Marvel’s First Family, the Fantastic Four. On its roof, the team’s iconic logo is in the process of being painted on. Could this mean that the team has only just formed in the universe of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Insomniac’s next Marvel title is set to be Wolverine, though it remains to be seen if this will be set within the same universe as the Marvel’s Spider-Man games. If so, however, given the fun nod to that upcoming game that is present in this title, perhaps the studio is also hinting at a fun future with the Fantastic Four.

For now, it seems more likely that it is simply a fun easter egg, as nothing has been announced or rumored about any potential Fantastic Four features when it comes to the gaming sphere. Insomniac also chose not to bring the classic Bombastic Bag-Man suit after releasing it as DLC in the first game, a suit which sees Peter wearing a Fantastic Four uniform and a bag on his head when he did not have access to his own costume anymore in the comics.

As time goes on, players are sure to continue finding exciting new secrets like this wind tunnel. Until then, check out our review of the game, and be sure to check back on this site for our various walkthroughs should you ever find yourself in need of some guidance.
