Before getting started with taking the best photos of the spider in action its important to first of all learn the basics of what the photo mode allows you to do, after all it did play a bigger role than most casual fans would think in the first game with there being an unlockable trophy “sightseeing” utilising the mode to help Spider-Man take pictures of landmarks right across New York, this was such a fun trophy as it allowed players to spend their time admiring the city brought into the digital world so well by insomniac games.

- The Camera mode is the default setting for taking photos in the game. It gives players two options: free and orbit. In free mode, players can freely move the camera around the landscape to capture the desired shot. In orbit mode, the player character becomes the central point for the photo.
- In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players can now use the new precision option to make finer adjustments to the camera position before taking the photo. This option lowers the sensitivity of the analogue stick and trigger, giving players more control. Additionally, players can control the visibility of the hero, the tilt of the camera, and pause effects such as smoke or the hero’s suit. This mode offers a wide variety of options for players to choose from to capture the perfect shot.
- The Lens menu enables players to modify various aspects of their images, including Field of View, Exposure, Focus distance, Aperture, and DDF ranges. This means that players can adjust the appearance of their pictures to their liking with precision and accuracy..
- The Photo mode in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a fun feature called ‘Filters and Frames’. It provides players with a vast range of filters and frames to choose from. These filters can change the appearance of the photo, making it look like it’s from a film or a pop art style, similar to many comic book characters. Players can also add frames to their photos, such as the “I Love New York” filter and even a filter where Spider-Man is holding the phone taking the picture. Additionally, players can change the background of the picture to a block color of their choice.
- The last tab allows the player to control photo features such as vignette, sharpness, film grain size, and image sharpness.
