Marvel’s Wolverine was revealed back in 2021. The game will see players controlling Logan, the mutant from the X-Men franchise. Insomniac has had an excellent record of developing games. Many of its games have recently been chartbusters and are doing exceptionally well commercially. Games released by the studio have also received good reviews from the critics. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was one of the best games of the year.

It has received nominations for some of the highest and greatest awards in the gaming industry, such as Game of The Year. Now, fans are speculating the release date for Insomniac’s next Marvel game, Marvel’s Wolverine. The speculation was fuelled by an artist posting concept art for the game on his ArtStation profile.

What Did the Concept Art Reveal Regarding Regarding Marvel’s Wolverine

Marvel’s Wolverine hasn’t had much revealed about it apart from the announcement and the trailer to go alongside it. But there are no clues regarding how far along the game’s development is. Let alone any details about its release. The leak arose from a concept artist named Hung Nguy. At the same time, one could check out the artist’s portfolio until very recently. Their profile on Artstation isn’t currently visible.

Also, attempting to do so gives an Error 404. We have attached a snapshot of their portfolio. At first glance, one can spot Marvel’s Wolverine, allegedly slated for a release date in 2024.

The fact that the portfolio is no longer visible on the ArtStation website indicates that Insomniac took it down. This may signal that the leak was indeed accurate and was released by accident. Or that it was an error. But had it been an error, it is unlikely that the profile was deleted because of it. The unavailability of the profile does seem very suspicious.

For all we know, Marvel’s Wolverine may be in for a surprise release for the game in 2024, which is unlikely, considering that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released in 2023.

Insomniac’s Pedigree With Superhero Games Will Continue With Marvel’s Wolverine

Insomniac has been a very competent studio and has proved its worth its salt with Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise. There was a time when Marvel IPs were not associated with good video games. The only notable superhero games earlier were the Batman Arkham games. Insomniac has been largely responsible for the shift in that trend.

Marvel’s Wolverine has been in development even when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was not released. Post the latter’s release, though, Insomniac started moving developers to the development team for Marvel’s Wolverine.

Among all this, there were reports of an upcoming Marvel multiplayer game in the works, as rumored by XboxEra’s Nick Baker, who has revealed accurate information. The rumor also was that the game would be exclusive to PlayStation 5.

A Marvel Game exclusive to PlayStation 5, all of this sounds like Insomniac Studios would be the studio behind the game. Nick Baker also theorized the same on his podcast here. Insomniac was also also confirmed to be working on a multiplayer game. They also posted a hiring alert on their Twitter, confirming the same. Also, Daredevil has been teased by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 director, Bryan Intihar, for quite some time now.

All this means that something is cooking at Insomniac, and in all fairness, signs point to the dish being Marvel-related. At the same time, the studio has been keeping radio silence on the matter. It will be interesting to see just how long it takes for Insomniac to reveal any details. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been released to great acclaim and seems a strong contender for the Game of The Year title at The Game Awards.

With the game, Insomniac has once again proved that it can breach expectations when it comes to delivering an experience in the superhero genre. At the same time, rudimentary details about Marvel’s Wolverine have been revealed so far. It is confirmed that the game will take place in the same universe as the Spider-Man games by Insomniac.

All of this confirms that no matter whether the rumor is debunked or confirmed. It will be an excellent time to be a gamer who’s a fan of the Marvel Universe. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available now on PlayStation 5 exclusively.
