Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is already a part of multiple multi-billion dollar franchises and is rumored to be debuting in another. Recently rumors have been going around that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will be starring in Damon Lindelof’s Star Wars film. It was announced in 2022 that Abdul-Mateen II would be portraying the role of Simon Wiliams aka Wonder Man for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming shows. He also played the role of Black Manta in Aquaman, he was the main antagonist to Aquaman in the first movie, and it seems that he will be returning in the sequel for his revenge.

In an episode of Jeff Sneider’s podcast, The Hot Mic he updated us on a possible rumor that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will most likely be starring in the next Star Wars film by Damon Lindelof. Sneider is known as a reputable scooper who has previously sniffed out many rumors and they turned out to be true too. In his podcast, he was asked if he had any latest news to share when dropped this bomb on many Star Wars fans, and currently, social media is booming with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Star Wars.

We talked about how the leads are black, right? It’s a black man and a black woman. […] Who does Damon Lindelof have a relationship with? You know, who did he just work with on his last thing that got him this job? You wanna say it so I don’t have to? [Yahya Abdul-Mateen II] 

I mean did he fit the description that I was given about an actor that’s gone back and forth between film and television, and yet has never been a lead of his own film? I guess you could say that. […] Are we looking at Yahya in Star Wars? I think it’s a possibility.”

Sneider further confirmed that Abdul-Mateen II fits the description that Damon Lindelof made for his Star Wars lead male cast a long time ago. As Damon Lindelof started working on the Star Wars project last year, he has likely cast the lead actors for the movie, and if not, it is only a matter of time before social media gets a whiff of it.
