The paparazzi have a reputation all across the globe for being extremely invasive and insensitive. They are known for having little to no regard for the safety and well-being of the people that they’re trying to make money off of, doing anything and everything they can to get a story or a picture, regardless of the consequences. Despite this being a well-known fact in the industry, there is little that can be done to stop this. Matt LeBlanc known for his work in Friends, is no stranger to this type of intrusive behavior.
It would seem, however, that once, a line was crossed for him as well, when paparazzi invaded his private space a little. Oddly enough, however, they ended up helping the actor in a way, making him make some major changes after they left.
Matt LeBlanc was Horrified After Paparazzi Crossed the Line
During the Friends Reunion episode on HBO Max, via Melodyhouse012, Matt LeBlanc talked about his own experiences, with the invasiveness of the paparazzi, an experience that was shared with the entire cast of the iconic television series. He revealed the time that he was watching the news and something that came on screen, horrified him in the creepiest way possible.
“I had the news on and on the TV, they had the screen split into six boxes and it was an aerial shot, live, of each of our houses. And I remember looking at it and going, ‘What the’ and I could hear the helicopter over my house and I went, ‘What the hell'”
On the screen, were aerial, real-time sky views of the houses of the entire cast of the series. This was happening while the actor was at his house. He even mentioned that he could hear the helicopter above his roof, something that would’ve been unsettling for anyone in that situation. This was unnerving for everyone from the cast, as Jennifer Aniston, let out a sound of discomfort upon hearing that something like this had happened without her knowledge.
Matt LeBlanc Noticed Something Off
After the initial shock wore off for Matt LeBlanc, he noticed something odd in the shot of his own house. The actor noticed that the roof of his house was in terrible condition, so much so that he felt uncomfortable that it was being broadcast on the news. After the cameras and the helicopter left, he grabbed a ladder and went up to inspect the state of his rooftop.
“And I’m looking closer at the screen and my roof is a mess. So, when the helicopter flew away, I got the ladder out and went up on the roof and I was like, sure as sh*t, I’ve got some leaks up there. I had to call the roofer and he came over and fix it,”
Upon inspection, LeBlanc realized that the state of his roof was in actuality, in a very bad shape. He had noticed some leaks which were so concerning that the actor had to actually call someone to get them fixed. The fact that the massive invasiveness of the paparazzi might have saved the Friends actor from a leaking roof is extremely ironic.
