Matthew Perry Made Odd Requests To His Assistant Before He Was Found Dead
The news of Matthew Perry’s passing shook the world on Saturday. Initial reports claimed there was no foul play, but as authorities continue their inquiries regarding the late actor’s real cause of death, new intelligence has been discovered.
As per TMZ via Live Mint, Perry made odd requests to his assistant hours before his death. He asked one of his employees to purchase a new iPhone and prescription glasses. The purpose was not mentioned.
The assistant was also the person who found Perry submerged in his hot tub and immediately called the emergency services for rescue. The actor’s assistant followed his request and bought the items. Two hours later, he found his employer’s body unresponsive. He also called “the actor’s mother, one of his brothers, and a woman who has no family ties to Perry.”
Earlier that day, the outlet also reported Perry finished a spirited game of pickleball near his Pacific Palisades home. A source also shared that the actor has “never been happier” in terms of his recent state of mind.
He previously moved to his new house and was very excited about it. The insider also stated that Perry recently signed new projects and was reportedly very active in contributing to the script. The bereaved family released a statement via People and expressed their grief over Perry’s tragic passing:
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him, and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”
The cast and crew of Friends also released a formal statement remembering their late co-star. Perry’s cast mates in the show were Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc.

Matthew Perry is known for his role as Chandler Bing in the sitcom Friends. Although he admitted praying to get cast in the show, the actor could not handle seeing himself on screen because his sickly appearance reminded him of his vices.
The late star suffered from alcohol addiction, and his opioid consumption affected his colon so he ended up getting hospitalized in 2018. Perry also went to rehab more than 15 times, in hopes of reforming himself and becoming sober.
