Thanks to a financial report published by Remedy Entertainment, we have now learned that the highly anticipated remakes to hugely popular games Max Payne 1 and 2 have entered the “production ready” stage meaning that these remakes are very likely to be Remedy’s next release before the likes of Control 2 and more Alan Wake games. In a statement from Remedy Entertainment the developers said this:

We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well-organized team working on it. With these accomplishments, we are excited about the project and its future success.

In a deal with Rockstar Games which sees Rockstar funding the project and Remedy developing fans, can be assured that a lot of love and care will go into making these remakes as authentic and true to the franchise as possible. While details are sparse as the remakes are still in the early phases it’s only a matter of time before we start to hear more.

Other games in Remedy’s roster

As well as the Max Payne Remakes, work has begun on a sequel to Control and other titles at Remedy.
As well as the Max Payne Remakes, work has begun on a sequel to Control and other titles at Remedy.

As mentioned above the Max Payne remakes aren’t the only games in development over at Remedy, as a sequel to 2019’s mind bending Control is currently in a proof of concept stage, meaning the plans are being set and work has begun. However, Remedy is not currently at a stage to enter production on the Control 2. In a recent statement by Remedy we learned that devs are happy with where these plans are currently, saying;

The plans for this sequel are ambitious, and we have seen good progress both in the designs and in the game build.

Meanwhile progress is also being made on another game, a spin-off to Control called Condor. A four-player co-op game being co-developed by 505games. Condor has recently progressed from the proof of concept stage and like the Max Payne remakes has since entered the “ready for production” stage. Remedy intend for Condor to be a service-based game with hopes to support it for years to come.

Lastly there is also Codename Vanguard which, while very little has been said about this project, we can gather that this will be a free to play competitive PvE title that’s looking to complete the proof of concept stage by the end of this year. We will hopefully know more on this soon.
