Conor McGregor is gearing up for his debut in the film industry this year, sharing the screen with Hollywood heavyweight Jake Gyllenhaal. The duo is set to headline a remake of the beloved 1989 film, Road House.

Scheduled for exclusive release on Amazon Prime Video starting March 21, the film revolves around Elwood Dalton (portrayed by Gyllenhaal), a former UFC fighter who finds himself working as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. However, his idyllic paradise soon reveals a darker underbelly.

McGregor steps into the role of Knox, Dalton’s formidable adversary in the film. Directors, even some of the most esteemed in the industry, have approached me during fight camps, but I consistently turned them down,” McGregor revealed. “I may have left a few people disappointed, perhaps even garnered a few enemies along the way because I would always say, ‘Maybe.'”

McGregor had initially anticipated a return to the octagon and planned to participate in several fights before the Road House remake’s release. However, his hiatus from fighting is approaching three years, despite being scheduled to face lightweight contender Michael Chandler since February 2023. It remains to be seen if McGregor will square off against Chandler this year.
