Jonathan Majors was expected to reprise his role of Kang the Conqueror as the main antagonistic force in Secret Wars after the Kang Dynasty. However, recent reports from an insider source claim that although his solo movie is being developed well, his future in MCU is quite in turmoil.

In fact, he is allegedly being cut back from being the main antagonist of Secret Wars arriving in 2026. Now obviously, as Jonathan Majors’ Kang was getting heavily promoted to give the Avengers a run for their money, questions are inevitable about who it could be that will snatch the mantle from him.

And the Internet is speculating that it is finally time for that villain to come who would unite the Avengers, the X-Men, and even the Eternals in one final battle to defeat him once and for all, i.e., The Beyonder.

Jonathan Majors’ MCU future in turmoil

Although there wasn’t any explicit acknowledgment of this, the movie releasing just the next year of the Kang Dynasty and the character getting heavily promoted indicated that Secret Wars, too, will feature Jonathan Majors‘ Kang as the main villain. In fact, he is confirmed to reprise his role in Loki 2 releasing later this year.

As such, this news is somewhat of a shock to his fans who were expecting him to fight the Avengers off with his army of Kang variants in full glory. Although it is not confirmed whether he really would be dropped from the MCU, the past few months following his arrest for the harassment and assault charges made by his ex-girlfriend were not exactly positive.

A major ad campaign of the US military featuring him got pulled off the market right after the news of his arrest broke. Not only that, but two talent management companies dropped him right during the time he got replaced in two major movies he was going to headline.

All in all, the last few months have been quite rough for him and his fans, and this recent news has sort of sent them into a frenzy worrying about his future in the industry. Well, as no official statements have been released on this matter from Marvel yet, his fans are still hopeful that all will be right in time when more details about the case come to light.

The Beyonder becomes the main antagonist in Secret Wars

Although the Secret Wars was known to bring back their heavy hitters to put on a spectacle similar to or even grander than Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it was thought to mostly circle around Majors’ Kang as the villain. A recent claim from a source, though, claims that his appearance might get cut back, if not removed completely in favor of another villain.

However, the news might not be way too shocking for some, as The Beyonder was always the main villain in Secret Wars in the comics. Not only that, the creator of the Battleworld, who used to kidnap the Avengers to make them fight in death matches after trapping them there is supposed to be one of the most powerful foes the superheroes ever had to face.

The Beyonder is known as a being who is an entire universe in one body, as a result, neither his slow integration into the MCU nor a lineup of allies was needed before introducing him in Secret Wars.

Especially as no one was aware of these secret wars happening, it brings that much more of a shock when the superheroes start disappearing suddenly and reappear in the Battleworld to fight some supervillains to the death.

As Marvel has been slowly building up to this, Secret Wars will possibly be the conclusion of their universal crossover as it actually took the Avengers, X-Men, Eternals, the Fantastic Four, and all the other powerful Marvel superheroes’ united power to bring The Beyonder down.

Although it is still a mystery who will be playing this role, at this point fans are almost sure of the route the movie is going to take as they wait for more details about the story to come to light slowly.
