While the dust on the rumor mill about Harry Potter returning is still settling, the Internet is blowing up another storm about bringing Benedict Cumberbatch to fight ‘The Boy Who Lived’. However, as not much is known about this reboot other than it being a seven-season series, fans of the franchise have taken it upon themselves to choose the actors they think would fit their favorite characters most. And obviously at the top of that list is none other than one of the most famous wizards of all time, i.e., the Sorcerer Supreme aka Benedict Cumberbatch.

Benedict Cumberbatch is coming back to destroy the Wizarding World

After months of sources popping up from here and there with claims of a Harry Potter reboot being in the works, Warner Bros. took it upon themselves to confirm that through HBO Max in an intriguing teaser last month.

Although, there have been speculations of this reboot being a product of Emma Watson refusing to reprise her role as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child after J.K. Rowling demanded an outrageous amount of money to sell the rights, the bottom line is it’s still returning.

And with that, J.K. Rowling is also returning as the series’ executive producer as she wants to make sure that it’s kept as true to the books as possible, because “It’s a British property.”

There have also been rumors of Warner Bros. using this as leverage over Watson and Daniel Radcliffe to pressure them into returning as otherwise their roles will inevitably go to someone else with the new series in production, there hasn’t been much progress on that front yet.

However, speculations have already started about who the new actors are going to be. Especially, who will be the ones portraying the stories’ most pivotal roles. For example, Tom Marvolo Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort. And it seems like the Internet has already found its perfect match in Benedict Cumberbatch.
