MCU Theory: The Post Credits Scene of No Way Home Will Set Up Daredevil Season 4

Featured Video

Spider-Man: No Way Home is less than a month away from us, and it has already broken the internet with its recent trailer. This was the big story trailer that told us a bit more about the narrative of the film. And it gave us the five big villains that are supposed to go against the Spiders. Even though we didn’t get to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, the trailer did have plenty of hints pointing to their presence. But the one that we got no clue for was Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock. And now, I’ve got a theory that the rumored Daredevil Season 4 will be set up by the post credits scene of No Way Home.

Along with the other two Spider-Men, and all the multiversal Spider-villains, we’ve also been hearing rumors about Matt Murdock’s presence in No Way Home. In fact, the two images recently leaked by John Campea are said to be true, and one of those more or less confirmed Charlie Cox’s presence in the movie. Like Andrew Garfield, Charlie Cox has also been staying neutral when asked about his appearance in the Spider-Man threequel.

Disney+ Day 2021

We’ve been hearing several rumors about an upcoming Daredevil season 4 on Disney+. But people have been suspicious of this because the latest Daredevil season was not announced on Disney+ Day 2021. New shows like Agatha House of Harkness and Echo were announced, but there was no sign of a Daredevil announcement. So, my theory is that the post credits scene of No Way Home will make this highly anticipated announcement, or at least tease it.

MCU Post Credits Scenes

Most post credits scenes of MCU movies follow similar patterns. One of the two scenes is about setting up a sequel while the second one looks at the bigger MCU picture. It sets up a different project. If we consider the recent movies, Shang-Chi’s first scene was about setting up part 2, while the final scene gave us a tease for a potential Ten Rings TV series. The first Eternals scene was about Eternals 2, and the second one set up Black Knight or Blade’s projects.

No Way Home Post Credits

So, the first scene of No Way Home should be about the future of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man (in the MCU or SPUMC), but the second one could surprise us by teasing a Daredevil TV show. We could definitely get a statement saying “MATT MURDOCK WILL RETURN” at the end. Last year on Disney+ day, Kathleen Kennedy announced several upcoming Star Wars projects for Disney+, but The Book of Boba Fett came as a surprise announcement at the end of The Mandalorian season 2. So maybe that’s what Marvel is planning to do with Daredevil. And besides, the announcement of a certain Daredevil series on Disney+ Day would have spoiled his appearance in No Way Home. That’s why it did not happen.

Several outlets have reported about Daredevil season 4 on Disney+. And now, Binge Watch This (a source proven right in the past) has claimed that Daredevil will appear in 4 MCU projects – No Way Home, She-Hulk, Echo, and his own solo series. We could take this report with a grain of salt, but the writing seems to be on the wall. So, I’m also confident about my theory about No Way Home’s post credits scene. Dane Whitman didn’t have a huge role in Eternals, but he did return for a Black Knight set up at the end. In the same way, Matt Murdock probably won’t have a huge role in the upcoming threequel as he is just Peter’s lawyer, but his appearance in the post credits scene of No Way Home could set up his future (in She-Hulk, Echo, &/or his own show). Maybe his Daredevil suit could be teased!
