“I sat down on the sofa with Robert Downey, Jr. last night, and we had our first conversation and shared notes on playing Sherlock Holmes.  This is the most dramatized fictional character of all time, so there’s a lot to talk about.”

In a different interview with Vanity Fair, Downey Jr explained feeling a bit jealous of his Endgame co-star after watching the latter’s performance.

He complimented the actor by sharing, “Very impressed with Benedict” adding, “Such smart writing on that show. I have screen envy.”

This screen envy was quite healthy as the duo maintained a great bond while working together in the Marvel film.

“It’s a very happy set when RDJ’s on it, and that goes for everyone, not just the actors.”

He complimented his personality by sharing,

“He’s funny, he’s quick, he’s so light on his feet, such a smart-thinking actor. It’s quite something to watch people like RDJ, who have been doing it so brilliantly for so long, in their prime.”

Given that the duo has nothing but good words for each other, it seems that they work along quite well despite having to share different versions of the same character.

One can watch their versions of Sherlock Holmes on Amazon Prime Video.
