“Kids are going to believe one day that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.”

Michael Bay went on to correct his screw-up from earlier and revealed that the Ninja Turtles are not going to be from an alien race after all. He said,

There was that quote saying that we’re making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We’re not. It’s the ooze. It’s from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press.

Megan Fox‘s character,  April O’Neil even had a conversation with her co-worker, Vern Fenwick in the movie where they made a dig at the early plot of the movie where Ninja Turtles were going to come from an alien race. Fenwick asks April O’Neil, “So they’re aliens?” and she replies with,

No, that’s stupid. They’re reptiles.”
