Boss Level Starring Mel Gibson Was Shot In Record Time

Apart from starring in multiple blockbusters, Mel Gibson was also a supporter of experimental cinema and featured in a fare share of low key films that went on to gain cult status. A notable one among them was the 2020 sci-fi time loop thriller Boss Level. The movie also featured MCU star Frank Grillo who played the antagonist Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Solider. In this film, Grillo portrays a jaded solider stuck in a time loop who has to face the sinister challenge of Colonel Ventor played by Gibson.

Speaking of Boss Level, Gibson mentioned in an interview about a unique feature of the film that involved completing the entire production in a record number of days. When the interviewer guessed 26 days as the number, the star affirmed and said,

“Yeah, you’re right. It was something like that which is, to me, mind-boggling, because look at all the stuff that’s in there”

The Maverick actor went on to laud director Joe Carnahan for his incredible achievment of completing the entire project in a short time despite incorporating many scientifically challenging and complex segments that required a lot of preparation.

Will Mel Gibson’s The Passion Of The Christ Have a Sequel?

Actor-director Mel Gibson took the world by storm with his brave independent film The Passion of the Christ in 2004, a disturbing and graphic representation of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. The film went on to become one of Gibson’s most iconic projects as director with many viewers wanting to see more of the star’s craft come to the fore. Almost 20 years later, reports coming in suggest that Mel Gibson may be ready with a sequel to his 2004 hit.

The Oscar winner has allegedly begun production on the new film titled The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection sometime in late spring, with Jim Caviezel on board to reprise the role of Jesus Christ. The film will reportedly focus on the 24 hours of Jesus’ passion, and the three days between the crucifixion and ultimate resurrection.With The Passion of the Christ becoming one of the most successful independent films in history with a collection of more than $612 million worldwide, fans will be anticipating another powerful effort from Mel Gibson.
