Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler are teaming up for a new project that’s currently in the works. These two have already rocked it together in four films – Black Panther, Creed, Fruitvale Station, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Besides directing, Coogler will also be writing and producing the project (along with his wife Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian). The director is producing the film through his production company, Proximity Media.
This film is Coogler’s first original spec script since Fruitvale Station, the one that first brought him and Jordan together. Even though this is the fifth time they are collaborating together again, fans have different opinions about it.
Ryan Coogler’s Collaboration With Michael B. Jordon on Vampire Project Spurs Divergent Opinions
Not much is known about the upcoming Coogler-Jordan flick, but it is being described as a genre-style feature with a “period element to the story.” Neither the story nor the title has been revealed yet. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is so top secret that:
“Executives and buyers were forced to make the pilgrimage to the Beverly Hills offices of WME, the agency that represents Coogler and Jordan, in order to take a gander at the script and get details.”
The secrecy indicates this could be one of their biggest collaborations so far. The trusted industry insider, Jeff Sneider, kind of ratified the period nature of the film in his latest newsletter, adding it’s about vampires. Besides this, he didn’t provide much details, but fans already started to have mixed reactions to it. Some love it, some not so much. Check out their reactions below:

Ryan Coogler Said He and Michael B. Jordan Have So Many Similarities
In an interview with Time, Ryan Coogler asserted that he and Michael B. Jordan have so much in common. The director went on to say:
So I met with him and it was one of those meetings where as soon as you meet with somebody you kind of connect. We connected about our parents because we both have very close relationships with our parents from similar environments—Mike’s from Newark, I’m from the East Bay area. Similar cultural politics. Similar conflict in the places we’re coming from. We’re both former athletes. We have similar tastes in film and books. And then once we got to work on Fruitvale—we were in the foxhole of independent filmmaking—we realized that we both had a similar style of working as well.
Certainly, they share many commonalities, leading to their collaboration on multiple projects. Meanwhile, Michael B. Jordan is putting in work on Creed 4 – not just as the leading man but also calling the shots from the director’s chair. And that’s not all, he’s got another major gig lined up as the lead in the upcoming I Am Legend sequel.
