Michael Mando’s Scorpion Reportedly Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man 4’ Villain, Fuels Sinister Six Movie Rumors

After Marvel’s rogue escapism with its Phase 4 canon, the franchise is finding its roots back to the great stories of the old. Just as Sony and Disney find a way to re-negotiate and extend their shared partnership over Spider-Man, MCU announces Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, confirming the continuation of the IP in the Marvel universe. But with each new film bringing a scarier villain into the fold, the pertinent question that now comes to mind is: who or what can top the massive showdown of No Way Home’s epic narrative?

Michael Mando Gets Nominated as Spider-Man 4 Villain

The infamous Spider-Man canon villain, Scorpion first made an appearance in the 2017 film Homecoming’s post-credits scene where Michael Keaton’s Vulture finds himself coming face to face with Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan. Since then, the MCU and SSMU fandom has been collectively waiting for the villain to make his coveted appearance against Holland’s Avenger but those rumors of Mando’s MCU stay were squashed long ago.

However, now, with MCU moving ahead with its Spider-Man arc, the rumors of Michael Mando’s return have gathered steam yet again. A new report on Twitter has further confirmed the rumor, thus sending the fandom into a hyperactive fit of celebration.

The Marvel and Sony universes have been slowly but surely edging toward an event that could very well be the culmination of the Sinister Six. With Vulture, Morbius, and Scorpion having indirectly come into contact with each other, the Multiverse Saga keeps the door open for these villains to step inside and rain havoc.

The arc of the web-slinger has been the most beloved of them all. With Tobey Maguire’s 2002 live-action launch, the fandom surrounding the character only ever increased with the years. Andrew Garfield’s version became the most notorious for its comic book accuracy while Tom Holland then went on to establish himself as the most relevant portrayal of a teenager with superpowers who rises to the occasion to fulfill his destiny of great power and responsibility.

However, even with the three versions of the IP, 8 films between them, and roughly just as many villains, one of the most feared and sinister of all Spider-Man arcs: the group that goes by the name, Sinister Six, is yet to make an appearance in any of them. With Spider-Man 4 now coming up, talks have begun surfacing in and around the rumor mill about that fault being rectified by the Marvel bosses as soon as the fourth installment gets up and running.

With Michael Mando’s rumored appearance as Scorpion now seeking to make it right by the fandom, this may as well be the epicenter of the long-awaited Sinister Six movie for the successfully running Sony/Marvel partnership.
