David Fincher Compares Michael Fassbender to Daniel Craig
During an interview with Empire magazine about his upcoming film The Killer, David Fincher reflected upon his work experience with Michael Fassbender. Unveiling the actor’s bizarre talent of rarely blinking, the director claimed that Fassbender is somewhat similar to James Bond actor Daniel Craig.
“Michael’s eyes betray a lot. He can hold a lot of conflicting things in his mind and his eyes allow you access to it…He’s like Daniel Craig in that way, saying, ‘I can do it better.’”
After comparing Michael Fassbender with Daniel Craig for a peculiar reason, the director proceeded to praise the actor for his dedication and commitment to his stagecraft. Apart from the actor’s talent of lack of blinking in front of the camera, Fincher reflected upon his discipline.
“Tell him to stop 1/3 inch shorter and he can fine-tune that technical stuff, while on top of that, he’s got really good ideas about behavior. He has this gift as an actor, but clamped on top of it is this incredible discipline about how he subdivides his next move.”
David Fincher stated during the interview, how Fassbender pushed himself to not blink on camera during his scenes in The Killer since he wanted a genuine cold-blooded persona.
The Killer is slated to hit Netflix on 10 November 2023.
