Expectations are at a high as fans gear up for My Hero Academia Season 7. Based on Kohei Horikoshi’s manga which is in the finishing stages, the anime has currently covered up to Chapter 306. There are still 90+ chapters for the animation to cover in the final arc of the franchise and it will feature the return of many fan-favorite characters.
Ahead of the release of the next season, Horikoshi and the official My Hero Academia website have been giving sneak peeks of the illustrations to be used in Season 7. A special promo artwork for manga and official video animation featuring Bakugo and other characters was included in last week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.
While the promo visual design was appreciated, the latest design has received severe backlash. Boku No Hero Academia fans termed it “visually dull”, “boring”, and downright “mid.”

While some tried to figure out the difference in designs between Season 6 and Season 7, others noted a few changes in Izuku Midoriya’s attire. Nonetheless, with the exception of the change in color from the usual brown being replaced by green and the addition of a scarf around his neck, there was nothing significant.

Considering that Anime TV Japan didn’t mistake Season 6 designs with Season 7, the new designs have been a real letdown for My Hero Academia fans. Some didn’t hold back their criticism and lashed out at the dull and repetitive visuals for one of the most beloved Shonen anime series.

When will My Hero Academia’s 7th Season be released?
While My Hero Academia Season 7 will definitely be released next year, there has been much speculation about the month. Reports estimate that it will arrive in March 2024, given the fact that it takes almost a year for each Season to arrive on TV, and Season 6 ended in the same month.
However, fresh speculations suggest that the production could be delayed till October 2024 by Studio Toho and Studio BONES. The anime series could be released following the completion of the manga, which is said to end in mid-2024.
An official announcement of My Hero Academia Season 7 is expected during the Jump Festa 2024 on December 16. Five members from the Japanese VA including Daiki Yamashita (Deku) and Nobuhiko Okamoto (Bakugo) will be joining the MHA panel to “enliven the 7th season of the anime and the 4th movie version of the super hot original work.”
