For Brie Larson, 2023 was a year of plenty of hype, but not much to show for. A lot has been written about the disaster that The Marvels turned out to be at the box office. Despite having one of the highest budgets in MCU history, the film centered around Carol Danvers sits at the bottom of the barrel, managing just $205.6 million.

However, Larson’s much-anticipated entry into the Fast and Furious universe in the summer was equally underwhelming. Fast X also had an inflated budget, meaning despite grossing $704 million at the box office, it was considered a disappointment. Even personally, Larson didn’t enjoy a lot of success financially. Her earnings from the Vin Diesel-led film appear grim when pitted against Miley Cyrus’ exploits.

Brie Larson’s Fast X Salary Appears Pale in Comparison With the Earnings of Miley Cyrus’ Hit Song

Miley Cyrus is one of the most marketable celebrities of her generation. She first made her mark on the television scene with the portrayal of a famous pop singer, Hannah Montana, in the titular sitcom. Later, she achieved everything Hannah did and more as a singer and songwriter in real life.

Cyrus rose to stardom thanks to the sitcom, but she didn’t take much home from the hit Disney show. At one point, she was among the lowest-paid actors in the cast of Hannah Montana.

But as soon as broke into the music industry like a Wrecking Ball, Cyrus started earning eye-watering figures. According to the RIAA, she has earned over $53 million in digital singles. Her superhit song Party in the USA, which was released in 2009, attracted $12 million by itself.

While the figure should be enough on its own to stun readers and make them (and us) question our career choices, it appears even more ridiculous when compared to what Brie Larson made for lending her talents in Fast X.

The MCU star reportedly (via Showbiz Galore) only got paid $1 million for the portrayal of Tess, the daughter of Mr. Nobody and a representative of the Agency.

What Brie Larson Said About Miley Cyrus’ Music Before The Marvels’ Shooting

Apart from making big bucks with her singles and albums, Cyrus has also amassed millions of die-hard fans across the globe with her talent and strong performances. And it seems Larson is also a huge admirer of her work.

During the preparation for the filming of The Marvels, Larson needed help from Cyrus’ songs to push herself during physical training.

She shared a video of her gym session on X with the caption: “Only @MileyCyrus can bring out my superhuman strength needed to complete these workouts.” In the background of the video, the singer’s Midnight Sky can be heard playing.

Having already inspired Larson to demand more from herself, maybe this time Cyrus might also inspire the actress to demand more from producers moving forward.
