Earlier this year, Entertainment Weekly released its ranking of shows that it thinks are the most popular on Netflix, putting The Haunting of Hill House in the Number 1 position. Fans seem to agree with what the article had to say, as they have taken to social media to express their love for the show, while inadvertently showing Netflix what a juggernaut of an IP the series has the potential to become.

Stranger Things is on its way to singing its swan song, The Millie Bobby Brown starter has found itself a lot of love from the audience as well. With its hotly anticipated final season, it is completely possible that if a similar list were to come out next year, it would look completely different, and given the hype around the property, it could have Stranger Things back on top. However, given how much the streaming giant has produced since April, the competition might be tough.

Ever since the article was released, Netflix has developed its library of original series even further. This year’s One Piece was quite the hit for the streaming giant, which made a space with the anime and mainstream community alike. Netflix is also set to release Avatar: The Last Airbender in the coming year, the fandom of which is waiting eagerly to see the animated series’ second outing as a live-action property.

Apart from an adaptation of established properties, Netflix also has a series of romantic comedies and dramas coming out in the coming year. 3 Body Problem is another series that might have what it takes sot topple The Haunting of Hill House as the new fan favorite. And these are just the live-action English language series that the show might have to defend its crown from. Several animated and foreign language materials could steal the number one spot from The Haunting on Hill House.
