In an interview with Square Mile Magazine, Simon Pegg recalled making Shaun of the Dead with director Wright. Pegg said that the film was a love letter that involved all the creative minds associated with the project working together to produce excellent content. Pegg also addresses the topic of making a sequel to the masterpiece. Pegg said,

“We were determined to cram it full of stuff. It was a total love letter, that movie. It was made with complete devotion to George Romero, and to zombies. We wanted it to be for people who felt the same way. We didn’t even know if we were ever going to make a film again. We barely knew this would get made. It was all or nothing, so we just put everything into it.”
