The two best actors in Hollywood Tom Cruise and Cillian Murphy will be battling at the box office in July. Much-awaited movies of both the stars Cruise and Murphy will be released in the same month. The 60-year-old actor’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will be released on the big screen on 12 July 2023 and the 47-year-old actor’s movie Oppenheimer will be hitting the big screen on 21 July 2023.
People are excited to know which actor’s movie will come out as the real winner at the box office. Reportedly, Cruise is also unhappy about battling Murphy’s film at the box office.
Tom Cruise is pissed with his upcoming movie’s theatre placement
Tom Cruise is very excited about the release of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. Cruise who is always involved in most of the decisions regarding his films is for now upset because of the theatre placement given to his film which is all set to release in July. The 60-year-old actor’s movie will be taking over the majority of the North America IMAX screens but soon Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer will be screened for direct 3 weeks.
Tom Cruise is reportedly furious that ‘MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE—DEAD RECKONING PART ONE’ will only play on IMAX screens for one week in July.
Christopher Nolan’s ‘OPPENHEIMER’ has IMAX exclusivity for the following three weeks.

Reportedly, until mid of August, director Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer will be screened which will be a loss for Cruise’s film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The Jack Reacher actor is reportedly, frustrated and pissed because of the theatre placements provided to him. This theatre placement will limit the theatre capacity for Cruise’s movie. As Cruise’s previous movie Top Gun: Maverick was a smashing hit at the box office, he doesn’t want his upcoming film to suffer in any way.
Tom Cruise is personally calling exhibitors to convince them
According to a new expert, the Top Gun actor is doing everything possible to ensure that his film’s conflict with Oppenheimer does not negatively impact its box office collection. Based on reports, Cruise is personally calling all of the exhibitors involved to convince them to support him when the film is released. He is trying to convince them to screen his movie for a longer duration.
Reportedly, Nolan the director of Oppenheimer has received huge support from IMAX, and even this time IMAX would choose Nolan over Cruise because of their past relationship. Oppenheimer had already booked the slot for the release in 2021 so the exhibitors may screen Oppenheimer for a longer duration that is until mid-August.

Tom Cruise is mad because his movie, ‘Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part One’, will only be shown in IMAX theaters for one week in July. Another movie called ‘Oppenheimer’ will be shown in IMAX theaters for the next three weeks.

If this is true, is there a logistical reason why Dead Reckoning Part One can’t play on IMAX screens for three weeks and Oppenheimer can?

It’s not like the general audience will prefer an atomic bomb movie over a Tom cruise top-tier action movie

In fairness I don’t know why Paramount decided to release it when they did right in the middle of summer. The last two Mission Impossible films released on the last weekend of July at the tail end of the summer schedule and played really well through August and into September

Murphy and Cruise have not yet spoken about this matter. Netizens are questioning who IMAX would prefer in this case. Many people believe that this situation will have no impact on Cruise’s movie because the buzz surrounding it will drive people to the theaters to watch it. People have been curious about which movie will be a major smashing blockbuster since the release dates of Oppenheimer and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was announced by the makers.
