Omeda Studios CEO Robbie Singh recently sat down with FandomWire for an interview. He spilled the beans about what makes Predecessor amazingly and unexpectedly stand out from other games in the genre and shared the details on many more exclusive features.

Predecessor Has a Feature That Makes It Feel Like Elden Ring

Predecessor is a fast-paced action title featuring MOBA and third-person gameplay with strategic choices. The game brings a fresh take to the genre and has received mostly positive reviews. While talking about the game and its competitiveness, the developer also shed some light on the game’s currency, gold, which is used to buy things in the game.

Players can use the gold to buy items, but it can be done at the base, and it becomes important for players to get as much gold as possible to level up. Moreover, if players are killed by anyone while they are trying to level up, they lose all the gold collected by them to the enemy that kills them, so “it creates a nice balance between risk and reward.”

So it becomes important for players to decide if they want to push and fight enemies to get more gold or if they want to go back to the base, use the gold collected to level up, and come back to take on enemies. This makes the game feel like Elden Ring, as when players try to push to kill more enemies, they may get killed, and they lose all their souls and memories collected along the journey.

Players May Get Their Stuff Back if They Find the Enemy

All the items that players have in Elden Ring are dropped at the place of their death, and players have the chance to get their stuff back from the location where it was dropped. The players in the MOBA title also face the same fate, but they may be able to get their items back if they can locate the enemy that killed them.

Players will have to start again, upgrade using the coins collected along the way, and look to find the enemy, eventually killing them and retrieving all the stuff they first lost. This makes the game very similar to Elden Ring, but in a unique way that would be a first in the MOBA genre.

The game boasts several features, such as the introduction of a third-person perspective that isn’t common in MOBA games, and with it all, Predecessor looks to leave a mark in the genre. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and features crossplay.
