Capcom’s upcoming title in the Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Wilds, was announced back in 2023 at the Game Awards with a brief trailer, but nothing more was known about it. The latest PlayStation State of Play event has now shared some more exciting details about the game.
The developer shared a new trailer, giving fans a fresh look at the game, and it looks absolutely phenomenal. The fans are going bonkers after everything they will be getting in the game, and it looks like, after Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s success, Capcom has got another money-making machine.
Monster Hunter Wilds Looks Pretty Wild in the Latest Trailer
The latest cinematic trailer provided a brand-new look at the game as well as combat gameplay. The in-game world looks pretty dark, and the combat seems very smooth. It was shared that every monster, weapon, and person in the game will have their own motivations and will act accordingly.
Several weapons are returning from the previous entry, including the Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Switch Axe, Heavy Bowgun, Bow, and many more. We also get a look at the sandstorm-filled locale, the Windward Plains.
Several varied ranges of environments were also shown, full of monsters, and it was confirmed that the game will feature changing environments, which had been speculated since the first look. The trailer also showcased the plethora of monsters that will be seen in Monster Hunter Wilds.
The monsters include the Doshaguma, a fanged beast; Chatacabra, an Amphibian species; Ceratonoth and Dalthydon, which are Herbivores; and Seikret, which is a mount for players useful for traveling through vast fields. Capcom has already confirmed the presence of Rathalos in the game.
Fans Are Impressed With Everything They’ve Seen So Far
The Monster Hunter franchise celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, and fans have been expecting Monster Hunter Wilds to be at the top of the table in the franchise in terms of the experience it will offer. The gameplay trailer has them convinced that the developer is doing justice to the title.
They now can’t wait for the launch of the game, which is confirmed to be sometime in 2025. Reacting to the trailer, fans have said that the game could define the franchise, with one fan saying that it will be “generational” and many calling it “incredible.”

Players have also said that all the other games in 2025 should be released six months before or after, if the developers don’t want to be overshadowed by this game. Players have praised the character design, in-game world, monster designs, weapon types, and more.
