For those unaware, the Animalities lets winning players turn into an animal and rip apart their opponents in a brutal fashion. The trailer showcased several characters turning into animals. In the trailer, Rain turns into a pufferfish and explodes from the inside of his enemy.

The Animalities are returning after a long period of 29 years. The mechanic was first seen in Mortal Kombat 3 that released back in 1995. The trailer also showed several other animals like a Hippo, a T-Rex skeleton, Hyena, Gorilla, and more that players can turn into.

These animal-based fatalities are part of the second year of content and the Khaos Reigns DLC. These will be available for free to all players and releases alongside the Khaos Reigns DLC on September 24, 2024.

Fans are excited to finally get the animal fatalities back and they seem quite eager to try it out. But there’s much more that will be coming to the game with the DLC. The DLC will bring six new characters, namely, Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Terminator T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Ghostface from Scream, and Conan the Barbarian.

Cyrax, Noob Saibot, and Sektor will be available with Khaos Reigns launch in September 2024 and the remaining three guest fighters will be released on unannounced dates. Players have also received an MK 95 Scorpion skin for free which is now available.

The DLC will expand the main story campaign with “an all-new cinematic narrative.” Cyrax and Sektor were already in the game as guest fighters and the new ones will be female human versions of the characters.
