Despite having a strong premise and NetherRealm Studios delivering a solid game, Mortal Kombat 1 has disappointed some players. The main reason for this is the addition of guest fighters like Peacemaker, Omni-Man, Homelander, and others.

It appears these guests weren’t a big deal to many fans, except for the last one added, Takeda, who happens to be a character from the franchise itself. It seems the community prefers the original characters over the characters that are from a different franchise.

Various ways of rethinking gameplay and reviving famous characters has kept one of the most famous 1990s franchises alive. The latest title in the saga, Mortal Kombat 1, reboots the entire story, bringing new perspectives never seen before.

Some players seem dissatisfied with the game’s current state. In particular, the recent addition of guest fighters has increased player dissatisfaction.

A post on X demonstrates how a player using Takeda, one of the game’s original characters, appears to be more effective than the previous guests from the first fighter pack.

Despite their extreme fame, it appears that players have failed to establish a connection with these characters, and the combos and combat styles are not as effective.

NetherRealm Studios Should Listen to the Community

In the video, it is clear that Takeda has a simple yet effective combo that is much more useful compared to the other guest fighters. Users responded to this post, agreeing with the user that the rest of the characters, except for Omni-Man, did not have a good reception or gameplay in general.

This conclusion was reached by viewing the trailers of the different characters, none of which surpassed the moves of Takeda.

Some players believe that certain community members tend to complain excessively for unjustified reasons, and they should limit their gameplay to their favorite fighters.

It seems that some fans have no problem with these guests and see them as a fun addition. NetherRealm Studios has been doing this for several installments of the franchise, seeking the most unexpected collaborations.

The studio has completed the first fighter pack of characters and has not yet revealed any additional packs or extra fighters for the upcoming months. However, given its successful release last year, Mortal Kombat 1 could potentially add new content at any time.

The community is always ready to receive new DLC from this popular game. In past entries, the NetherRealm team has included additional story missions, so hopefully, we can expect to see more

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
