Moses Ingram is an incredibly strong woman, especially with what she had to deal with from Star Wars fans recently. She is also an incredibly educated woman: she attended the Baltimore School of Arts and the Yale School for Drama, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts. While she has only done a few films and series, she is already making an exciting name for herself. Here are the roles that Moses Ingram has played and will play:

Moses Ingram burst onto the small screen with her supporting role as Jolene in the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance in the series. The Queen’s Gambit would go on to win eleven Primetime Emmys, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and become the first series on a streaming service to win that award.

During the early days of COVID, in order to keep getting new content out, the Zoom drama was born. Moses Ingram participated in one of the last of this genre, The Same Storm. The cast features performers like Noma Dumezweni, Mary-Louise Parker, Sandra Oh, Judith Light, and more. While the format hopefully doesn’t linger for long, it’s a testament to creators for trying something new in light of a global pandemic.

The power radiating from this still image is amazing; Moses Ingram has such a presence on screen. The Tragedy of Macbeth is a film where she has a small amount of screen time to make a big impact; Ingram is able to do that in spades in Joel Coen’s adaptation of the Shakespeare play. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Actor for her Macbeth, Denzel Washington.

Amy Sharp in Ambulance

A Michael Bay action film is an entirely different experience compared to what Moses Ingram has done up to this point. She is the catalyst for all the events that transpire in the film since it’s her surgery that prompts her husband (played by the fantastic Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) to contact his brother (Jake Gyllenhaal) to orchestrate a bank heist and lead them on a wild ride with an EMT on an ambulance (played by Eiza González).

Reva Sevander/Third Sister in Obi-Wan Kenobi

If we learned anything from Obi-Wan Kenobi, it’s that we need to wait until a series is complete before passing judgment on a character arc. Ingram was able to showcase a wide range of emotions as Reva and the way her story plays out makes perfect sense. It’s a compelling character that I would love to see more of in the Star Wars universe, whether in her own series or one that has already been announced/rumored. She deserves it after what she had to endure from “Star Wars fans” the last few weeks.

What’s Next For Moses Ingram?

The next time we’ll see Moses Ingram will be in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Lady in the Lake opposite Natalie Portman. She was not cast in the series initially though; Ingram is replacing Lupita Nyong’o, who left the series before production began. The series takes place in 1960’s Baltimore and focuses on an unsolved murder case; it is currently in production and should be expected to premiere sometime in 2023.
