These anime series are known to be the trendiest anime series of that particular year based on the data from Twitter.
This year too, XTrendAward decided to release the list of the most trending anime series of 2023. To many people’s shock, the top anime on the list was neither Jujutsu Kaisen nor Attack on Titan. 2023 was one of the most important years for these series and fans expected them to lead the list of the most trending anime series.
However, Jujutsu Kaisen still takes second place, but other series like Demon Slayer, One Piece, Vinland Saga, and more were not able to secure a place in the top 5, despite having a good run in 2023.
1. Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury
The top spot for the most trending anime series of 2023 according to XTrendAward was secured by Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury and this was because of its highly-anticipated second season earlier this year that was loved by a lot of fans. The story takes place in a future in which numerous corporations have colonized space and established a massive economic system. Suletta Mercury, who is from the far-off planet Mercury, transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, which is controlled by the Benerit Group, which is the industry leader in mobile suits.
Suletta eventually finds herself embroiled in a wider power struggle between Benerit and the Earthians, a less fortunate segment of the human race. As the series featured its second season this year, fans loved this season more than the second season and shot it at the top of the list of most trending anime series of 2023.

2. Jujutsu Kaisen
The second place for the most trending topic of 2023 was held by none other than Jujutsu Kaisen, one of the most popular and talked about series of this year. The series this year followed the Shibuya Incident arc which is one of the most popular and violent arcs of the entire series. Despite some controversies initially regarding the production studios, the series remained one of the most hot topics of 2023.

By dealing with issues like the meaning of life and death and self-discovery, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a much calmer and less violent anime series. The show follows Frieren, an elven mage, on her dramatic journey as she fights aging and mortality.
The series had many accolades to its name already even after debuting this year itself. Despite the lack of action and fighting in the series, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has rightfully risen to the top of the charts.

4. Attack on Titan
Falling in the fourth spot is Attack on Titan, one of the most popular anime series for the past ten years since its debut. 2023 was particularly significant for Attack on Titan as this year marked the final episode of the series officially putting an end to Hajime Isayama’s epic storyline.
