Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland famously co-starred in the live-action adaptation of the famed Uncharted video game series. As an older fellow and a veteran in the acting industry, it seemed normal for Wahlberg to give a piece of advice, especially for young stars like Holland. However, it was not what everyone expected.

Holland’s career thrived after starring in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though some of his projects outside the superhero realm underperformed at the box office, his future in the entertainment business still looks very promising.

Mark Wahlberg Gave Tom Holland The Most Terrible Life Advice Ever

Speaking on Jay Shetty podcast, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland revealed the worst advice he has ever received and exposed that it was his Uncharted co-star Mark Wahlberg who gave it to him.

Move to L.A., get a marijuana license, and buy a hot tub.”

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Wahlberg said the same thing to Holland after he was asked by the host to share some advice on fame and fortune. The Transformers star stated:

I’m the last person he should ask for advice, you’ve never been to jail, have you? The first check I got, I ran to a Mercedes dealer. I bought a car; I didn’t have money for registration or insurance. The police towed the vehicle because I didn’t have any insurance. You don’t want any advice from me.”

Still, Wahlberg gave the most interesting advice he could give to Holland, and it was as shocking as fans hoped it to be.

I just met all your brothers. Bring the boys to Cali. Get a medical marijuana license… and have some fun dude. Have some fun for me.”

Thankfully, Holland never followed any of these pieces of advice from the actor. He confirmed in a separate interview that the best advice he got was from his mother, and that was not to get a marijuana license as what Wahlberg recommended.

Tom Holland Might Actually Need One Of Mark Wahlberg’s Words Of Wisdom

Mark Wahlberg’s advice to Tom Holland might not be entirely a joke. They have worked tirelessly during the filming of Uncharted to the point where the Spider-Man star felt so much burnout. The 27-year-old actor told The Hollywood Reporter:

There was a point in time where I had to make the call and say, ‘Guys, I’m going to need a weekend because if not, I’m going to sort of fall apart. I got quite a nasty bit of tendinitis in my hamstring, which held me back quite a bit, but thankfully, that was more toward the end of the shoot.”

Sony and Holland have a strong relationship, and they understood that he needed a break. When Wahlberg said he should have fun, he probably meant he should not work himself too much. Holland notably visited 17 countries during the press tour for the first Spider-Man film. He felt sick at the time but continued to make his appearances.

Uncharted is available to watch on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
