But there is a certain mystery that Kohei Horikoshi confirmed that he would reveal before the manga ends. It is surrounding Izuku Midoriya’s father, who remains an unknown figure after 9 years of the release of My Hero Academia’s first chapter.
Fans Are Waiting For Deku’s Father
Izuku Midoriya, a.k.a. Deku was a Quirkless individual who inherited One for All from All Might. Even though he is on his way to becoming one of the greatest heroes in the world, the identity of his father still seems to be a mystery. The only information about his father is that his name is Hisashi Midoriya. Even though he is not a hero, he has a fire-breathing quirk. The reason for his absence is that he is travelling abroad on business.
Hisashi Midoriya is such a mysterious character that Deku never mentions him or writes to him. Deku’s flashback does not even show his father. His father also does not write to him at UA or call him. One of the reasons for this is that he believes that son his is Quirkless and has no idea about him inheriting One for All.
With My Hero Academia approaching its ending, there will be nothing better than to introduce his father at the very end. After becoming the greatest hero, his father will be surprised to see that his Quirkless boy has become such a great person. It will be a great father-son moment, and the fans will have their wish fulfilled.
My Hero Academia Creator on Deku’s Father
During the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con, Kohei Horikoshi was asked about Deku’s father. He answered, “Deku’s father will be revealed in the future.” So, it can be well understood that the closer we get to the climax of My Hero Academia, the chances of Deku’s father appearing in the story increase. But fans also fear that it might not happen at all.

Kohei Horikoshi mentioned it in 2018, and it has been five years since his comment. Since then, Deku has had great character development and half of Japan was annihilated, yet there were no signs of Hisashi Midoriya. Deku spends his entire life with a single parent, yet he is always happy, and his missing father does not affect his decision-making. He is emotional yet rational.
For the moment, Kohei Horikoshi is yet to fulfil his promise. The fans believe that the epilogue will be the best place to introduce Deku’s father. There is no greater joy than seeing a father and his children after they achieve something great. For Hisashi Midoriya, it will be the greatest hero.
