Did you know that these two also fight over insignificant things like TV shows to watch together, just like most married couples do? Damon and his wife got into an argument as a result of Downton Abbey. The actor, who confessed to being an avid fan of the ITV period drama, got into a heated argument with his wife after she watched a run of episodes without him. The actor thought his wife would understand his busy schedule, but the unexpected turned sour, leaving him feeling betrayed as she watched the episodes without him.

During an interview on The Graham Norton Show, Damon claimed that his spouse “is an addict. It’s a problem.”

The Downton Abbey ‘Addict’ Wife of Matt Damon Watched Six Episodes Without Him?

Matt Damon is prone to swinging between a hectic schedule and success. His job requires him to travel to various movie locations across the globe, which means he spends a lot of time away from his loved ones. Well, he has been traveling with his wife, Luciana Barroso, on life’s adventures for over a decade. However, as much as he hoped she would understand his busy schedule, the actor eventually struggled to believe that she watched a show without him that they had both scheduled to watch ‘together’.

“No, my wife is an addict and by addict, I mean a crack addict, and that’s like a problem. We were supposed to watch it together and I came to bed one night and she said, ‘I’ve just watched six of them; I’ll tell you what happened!’ She wanted to watch the seventh and didn’t want to go back to the beginning. So she’s done the whole thing and I am on my own.”

Having been married since 2005, the 53-year-old actor has three daughters with his wife in addition to Luciana Barroso’s daughter from a previous marriage.

“I am going to have to find time to do that.”

As the comedy Stuck on You was being filmed in 2003, Matt Damon had initially seen Luciana Barroso in a Miami bar. Despite her tendency to stay out of the spotlight, the mother of four, who was born in Argentina, talked to Vogue Australia in 2018 about her first encounter with her husband:

“I was working as a bartender in South Beach (Miami) and he was shooting a movie there and the crew ended up in the bar one Saturday night.”

Recalling that her husband’s version of events tended to be a little more romantic, Barroso added.

“Matt’s story is that he saw me across the room and there was a light on me. And I’m like: ‘Yeah, it was a nightclub—there were lights everywhere!’ ”

Barroso agreed that their meeting was kismet, as her husband had said. She noted:

“We definitely had a connection right away; it was so easy to talk to each other, and we were very comfortable with each other.”

As the night at the bar was coming to an end, Damon asked her to go out with some friends, not realizing that she had a small daughter at home. Barroso recalled that the actor found it quite appealing that she put her parenting responsibilities first:

“By the end of the night, he invited me to go out with his friends. But I was like, ‘I can’t; I have a four-year-old daughter [Alexia], and I’m not going anywhere’. That was one of the things he loved—that I had a daughter. He said: ‘I love that you’re a mom, and that’s your priority.’ Some guys might have been different; they might think it’s complicated, but for him, it wasn’t.”
