On the other hand, Sasuke Uchiha is the deuteragonist of the Naruto franchise. He is the member and the last survivor of the unbeatable Uchiha clan and is one of the most powerful characters in the series.

Both of them have shaped the history of their respective franchises, also the history of manga and anime as well. And while we all know that they are pretty powerful, we wonder who is the strongest among them. Who would win in a battle between Luffy and Sasuke?

Physical Strength

Luffy’s physical abilities include the Gum-Gum Abilities, Gears, Color of the Supreme King (Conqueror Haki, Conqueror’s Haki, Hao, Haoshoku), and Color of Arms (Armament Haki, Arms Haki, Buso, Busoshoku).

On the contrary, Sasuke possesses every single Nature Type, able to manipulate all elements. Along with Amaterasu, the flame that can never be put out; Susanoo, the ultimate defense and offense; the Rinnegan, the eye of the Heavens, and all of its abilities; Yin Release, Clones, etc. Physically.

If we look at straight-up hand-to-hand, Sasuke is much more likely to fair better against Naruto, or Zoro with his swords, not Luffy.

Defense

This fight would be a close call as Sasuke is impervious to Conqueror Haki, and can cut Buso with his Flame Control Sword. However, Luffy is impervious to Lightning, so Chidori is not an option.

But Lightning isn’t Sasuke’s main or most powerful release at the time, it will be Amaterasu and Blaze Release/Inferno Style. And Luffy’s defenses include the aforementioned Haki, along with the enhanced durability of Gear 4.

On the other hand, Sasuke has Susanoo and with its perfect form, it is unbreakable by any physical attack. Thus, Sasuke has stronger defenses. So the 2nd Point also goes to Sasuke.

Intellect

Sasuke wins this one by a mile. Luffy is a complete idiot and only has a mind when it comes to battle instincts. On the contrary, Sasuke is a genius in every right, including battle instincts.

Overall

Sasuke is undoubtedly one of the strongest rivals Naruto has ever faced. Aside from his incredible hand-to-hand prowess, Sasuke is a great strategist capable of creating complex battle strategies on the fly, making it very likely he can outsmart Luffy.

Sasuke possesses the Rinnegan, an eye that allows him to use Chibaku Tensei, a move he uses to trap and incapacitate nine Tailed Beasts more powerful than Luffy with a clap of his hands.

He can also use Genjutsu to trap Luffy in an illusion or use Human Path to rip out his soul. Luffy would have no defense against most of Sasuke’s techniques.

Obviously, Luffy is pretty strong in the One Piece world, but Naruto’s verse is completely on another level and Sasuke is at the top of it.
