The first season of Solo Leveling has finally reached its conclusion and it has left the anime fans with many unanswered questions. Although these questions will be answered once the series moves on to the next phase of the story, they still have a lot of elements to explore that make the future of Solo Leveling even more interesting.
One such thing that makes the series interesting to watch is the power scaling between the hunters in the series. Hunters in Solo Leveling are ranked according to their magic power. A Hunter’s magical strength can be assessed with Mana Meters, which are devices made of magic crystals. There are six Hunter rankings in total.
The order of strength is S, A, B, C, D, and E, where S is the strongest and E is the weakest. However, there is one class of hunters that is considered to be even stronger than the S-Rank. They are the National level hunters and there are only five national level hunters revealed in the series as of yet.
The Strength of a National-Level Hunter
National Level Hunters are considered to be the strongest class of Hunters in the entire Solo Leveling world. There have been only five National Level Hunters in the world and they are Thomas Andre, Liu Zhigang, Christopher Reed, Siddharth Bachchan, and an unnamed Healer. These hunters earned their title by clearing at least one S-Rank gate.
These National Level Hunters earned the title by killing a dragon named Kamish, who was the boss of the first S-Rank gate that opened. When he emerged out of the gate, he killed many S-Rank hunters, and only five among them survived, and later on were able to kill him. These hunters are considered to be as strong as a nation’s entire military.
In the later part of the story, the main character of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo also joins the ranks of National Level Hunter by defeating the strongest National Level Hunter, Thomas Andre. The National Level Hunters have a strong influence on society and are considered humanity’s biggest strength.
The Difference Between a National Level Hunter and an S-Rank Hunter
In terms of strength and ability, a National level hunter is far above an S-Rank hunter. Even though S-Rank hunters have mana levels so high that mana meter technology cannot measure them, they still need to beat the Boss of an S-Rank gate in order to advance to the level of a National Level Hunter.
While most countries have less than 20 S-Rank hunters, there have only been five official National Level Hunters in the entire world. National Level Hunters are granted their powers by the Rulers, just like Sung Jinwoo got his powers from Ashborn. National Level Hunters are a rare phenomenon in the world of Solo Leveling.
The range of S-Rank Hunters varies from anyone above an A-Rank hunter to hunters with unimaginable power. Although both classes of hunters are strong, National Level Hunter’s powers are incomparable.
