Next-Gen Console Version of Red Dead Redemption 2 Leaked

Featured Video

Red Dead Redemption 2 is well known these days by most as one of the best games on the market. The open world western makes for a sprawling adventure full of gun fights, hunting and exploration that takes almost too long to finish.  It would make too much sense for the game to be upgraded for current generation, but it hasn’t occured, at least not yet.

Leader of the Xbox Domination

Vice president of Xbox gaming

Xbox’s CEO and vice president of gaming, Phil Spencer definitely has some lofty goals for Microsoft gaming. With a personal net worth over $25 million he has been striving to conquer the gaming climate and be supreme leader.  In seriousness though if he has his way Microsoft could potentially gain a real monopoly over their competitors, although this seems unlikely with the current lay of the land.

After a long court battle in regards to their last purchase/acquisition, Microsoft won against the FTC and now Activision/Blizzard sits firmly under the Microsoft umbrella.  In the leaked emails Mr. Spencer expresses his interest in acquiring a lot more.  Valve studios, Warner Bros. Network of video game studios and even somehow Nintendo are all on his wish list. Lofty goals indeed.

Would you be excited for a current gen update?

Not all plans come to fruition though.  In the leaked emails were a long list of game plans which included Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to Xbox Series X/S.  Given that this email was from May of 2020, means that such a native version of the game has yet to be even be officially announced.  It does give fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 something to potentially look forward to, if a real current gen version came to Xbox it would likely get even better reception than the slightly remastered Red Dead Redemption for last gens’ PS4 and Xbox One.
