Rosamund Pike is undoubtedly an amazing and awesomely stunning actress. But she is also one to listen and agree to whatever the legendary Judi Dench tells her to do: even if it means going on a blind date with a shady fan!

Appearing on The Graham Norton Showthe Gone Girl star shared how, when she was done with Madame de Sade with Dench, she received a letter from a fan asking her out. She said,

“So, I got a letter after an interview I’d done and this man was very, very certain that whoever I was with – I was not meant to be with him. And [that] he was… the man for me. So I mentioned this to my fellow castmates and Judi [Dench] said, ‘Oh, Rosie.’ [imitates Dench] ‘You have to go to dinner with him.'”

But Pike wasn’t convinced just yet and had no intentions to go on a date with a guy she didn’t even know – until Dench found a solution to that as well. She told Graham Norton:

“I said, ‘Do I? No, we don’t know anything about him!’ She said, ‘Well, let’s look him up on the internet.’ We looked him up and here’s what we found: I think we found out that he made kitchens. And she [Judi Dench] said [imitates Dench], ‘Oh Rosie. Kitchens.’ [laughs] I think she saw my whole future. Anyway, I did go to dinner with him. Yes, cause [when] Judi Dench tells you to go for dinner with someone, you go!”

Although Rosamund Pike did end up going on the blind date with a sketchy fan just because Judi Dench told her to do it, little did she know how dark the upcoming events would turn out to be for her.

Continuing, Pike shared on The Graham Norton Show how her date went.

“It was lovely. I mean, we weren’t together for very long. He did begin the conversation actually by saying, ‘You probably-‘ I said, ‘We looked you up on the internet.’ He said, ‘You probably got the story of the body washed up-‘ I’m not joking! He said, ‘You probably got the story about the body washed up at my house by the beach.’ I said, ‘Umm… no! I didn’t come across that one actually.'”

To this, Norton hilariously remarked,

“Never bring that up on a date again.”

Nonetheless, while it was truly brave of Rosamund Pike to go on a blind date with a suspicious fan only because Judi Dench told her to, we’re thankful the situation didn’t take a darker turn than it did.
