The recently released One Piece episode 1115 has finally offered a glimpse of the much-awaited Monkey D. Garp vs. Aokiji Kuzan battle. Ever since Garp’s endeavors on Hachinosu Island began, One Piece fans have been waiting for this epic fight between the master and his former Admiral student.
The episode was one of the best episodes after the Wano arc, and Toei Animation did a wonderful job of animating the battle. While the result of the fight is still a few episodes away, both Garp and Aokiji are trying their hardest to defeat each other and fulfill their roles. However, this fight has divided the One Piece fans into two factions.
One group of fans who favored Aokiji claimed that Monkey D. Garp had become weak and he was not as strong as he was in his prime in his battle against Aokiji. However, a recently discovered One Piece fact about Garp’s true strength might have changed this opinion and proved why Garp is called the Hero of the Navy.
The True Strength of the Navy’s Hero in One Piece
Monkey D. Garp’s abilities and vigor have been a mystery since the beginning. Although fans have always heard about his brave adventures from the past, no one had seen what he was truly capable of until the Egghead arc started and Koby was captured by the Blackbeard Pirates. Garp decided to save his apprentice and bring him back.
As Koby was imprisoned at Hachinosu Island, Garp sailed towards it along with other Navy members and went full Hulk on it. His single punch leveled the main city on Hachinosu Island, killing a lot of pirates and destroying almost everything that felt its impact. However, this was just a trailer for Garp’s true strength.
While he was saving Koby, Aokiji, who recently joined the Blackbeard Pirates, decided to confront his former master and stop him from taking Blackbeard’s prisoner. This led to an all-out brawl where in the first half Aokiji asserted his dominance. But being Aokiji’s master, Garp put him in his position by throwing him and making a big hole in the island.
Aokiji Fans Have Nothing Over Monkey D. Garp
Although as of right now, Garp is winning the fight, Aokiji fans already know who will be the final victor. Thus, some of them started trolling Garp and questioned his unimaginable power that was only able to level a city in Hachinosu. But a One Piece fan account on Instagram called @_.d_law shared the true statistics of Garp’s Galaxy Impact.
According to the user, the city that Garp’s punch destroyed was evidently bigger than the infamous Thriller Bark ship of Gecko Moria, which was standing at the port of Hachinosu.

Thriller Bark is the biggest pirate ship in the history of One Piece, and Garp destroying something that is even bigger than the ship truly means something.
Not only that, Garp launched his Galaxy Impact from far away, which means he couldn’t exert his entire strength in his punch. If he had done that, there is a big chance that he would have sunk the entire island by himself. Thus, it is clear that in terms of strength, there is hardly any other One Piece character who is as powerful as Monkey D. Garp.
