The secret to his bulky, sultry, and incredible physique is his long hours of muscle training in the gym. The actor portrays his on-screen characters effectively, and to excel in his parts, he first mentally and physically prepares himself. Last year, he told Mens Journal that the training he followed for his role in the DC movie Black Adam was the most “arduous he has ever done in his life.”

Dwayne Johnson said,

“The training we did for this movie was the most arduous; I’ve ever done in my life. I promise you this: The hierarchy of power in the DC universe is about to change.”

Speaking of the goals he set for this role with his coach Dave Reinzi, The Mummy Returns actor said,

“I started training for Black Adam when I came out of the womb. I believe I was born to play this character. But in all honesty, this project has been with me for 10 ten years now. The process began when we started to stand the material up and really developed it into what it is present day.”

Dwayne Johnson stated that his father inspired him to work hard since childhood as he allowed him to watch him work out when he was only five years old, claiming,

“I grew up going to the gym with my dad. When I was five years old, he’d let me watch him work out. When I was 12, I picked up my first weight. After that, he’d take me on the wrestling mats and just beat the shit out of me.”

The Black Adam star added,

“When you go into the gym to train, you need to train for yourself only. Don’t train for anyone else. Don’t train to impress anyone. Don’t throw a lot of weight on the bar. Don’t let ego come into the equation. Train for yourself. It’s you versus you in there. I’ve never given a f*ck about who’s around me in the gym. That’s always served me well. Be focused and get after it.”

Jaume Collet-Serra’s directorial Black Adam is the 11th installment in the DC Extended Universe which stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan. The film was released in 2022 and earned $393 million at the global box office.
