Jim Parsons has starred in several other movies and shows over the years, but his most notable work continues to be The Big Bang Theory even after so many years since the last season aired. This is perhaps because his involvement with the series never ended as he serves as the narrator and producer on the spin-off series Young Sheldon.
In a recent interview in which he discussed his appearance in the finale of the series, he addressed a rumor that suggests he was married to singer Rihanna. In the process of debunking the theory, he said something that makes one wonder if his husband doubts his capability of dating someone like Rihanna.
Jim Parsons Debunked the Rumors of His Marriage to Rihanna
The internet is a continuous rumor-churning mill. There is a rumor or a conspiracy theory lurking in every corner of social media. One such rumor is that The Boys in the Band star is married to Rihanna. American TV show host Jimmy Fallon brought it up in a recent interview and the actor debunked it with no hesitation whatsoever.
The fact that Parsons was gay did not become public knowledge until 2012 when an article in The New York Times stated it. At the time, he had been in a relationship with art director Todd Spiewak for ten years. The couple got married in May 2017.
During the interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Fallon pulled out a picture of Parsons in which the latter is smiling at the camera with Rihanna. Not only did the actor debunk the rumor of his marriage to Rihanna, but he also jokingly said that his husband wouldn’t mind it. He said:
“I think she would be my free pass if I ask for something like that. He’d say: ‘Go for it. Never gonna happen.'”
This probably implies that Spiewak does not have faith in Parsons’s ability to impress Rihanna enough to get married to her. Frankly, the Barbadian singer is out of the league of some of the most prominent celebrities. That being said, the picture in question was from when Parsons was working with the singer on the animated movie Home.
Jim Parsons Will Appear in the Finale of Young Sheldon
Jim Parsons rose to prominence with his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory. While the reactions to the show’s first season were a little cold, the second and third seasons were received well. The show aired for a total of 12 seasons surpassing FRIENDS, which aired for only 10 seasons.
According to Deadline, The Big Bang Theory spin-off show Young Sheldon‘s final episode will see two members of the original cast, namely, Jim Parsons and Miyam Bialik, reprise their roles even though no details of the plot are known yet. While Parsons has narrated all the seasons of the show and Bialik has narrated two episodes, no one from the original show has physically appeared in the show so far.
The Big Bang Theory and Home are available for streaming on Max and Crunchyroll respectively.
