Cody Rhodes entertained audiences last night with his electrifying performance in the year’s Royal Rumble Match. Rhodes emerged victorious during the match and he is set to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. At the press conference post the show, the WWE superstar addressed the s*x-trafficking allegations against Vince McMahon.

Rhodes revealed that he and other WWE stars found out about the news just like every other person. He claimed that this situation set a dark cloud in the industry and supported the TKO board’s decision to take strict action. He also considered the WWE crew, his team, and a family unit while also pointing out the importance of being accountable for one’s actions. He said, (via Wrestlezone)

“I know as far as the news is concerned, we were finding it out, reading the same things that you guys were reading. As you said, a dark cloud, certainly. As far as TKO, Nick Khan, and the board, clearly took it very seriously, acted immediately. Looking at the future,

I don’t know the answer to that, and I think somewhere there is really a basic tenant of, this crew, more than ever, from a roster standpoint, is very family, never seen anything like this.

Most of the time, wrestling locker rooms, fighting, talking trash about each other, making fun of each other, sandbagging each other in the ring, all that nonsense. This team is very team-based. And perhaps that’s the ingredient, everyone looking out for everyone, being accountable.”

Rhodes’ statement is reasonable as he wants WWE to move forward and not be plummeted down by this current situation. With McMahon denying all the accusations against him, it remains to be seen whether McMahon ends up in court or not.

“I’m very excited. I’ve been on the Netflix game since the beginning. Half the shows that I’m obsessed with now have come from Netflix. I have friends that work at Netflix. I’m also very excited for the integration. Whenever pro wrestling and sports entertainment is introduced to new people, new ideas come up.

“Sometimes they’re ridiculous and they don’t understand, but that is a really fun period, the integration,” he added. “You can teach them what we do and we can steal a little bit of what they do. I think it’s going to be a great match.”
