Since 2019, Apex Legends has been a constant competitor in the battle royale genre, as it has held its own against games like Fortnite and Warzone. Over the years, there have been numerous updates to Apex Legends that have brought with them new maps, new weapons, and even new characters.

Such as its next update, which will bring with it season 19, and a boatload of changes to the game in general. One of these major changes is the introduction of a new character, who has a rather interesting backstory as it fits in with another Respawn Entertainment title, Titanfall 2.

Who Is This New Character, And What is Their Backstory?

As of October 31st, Apex Legends will be gaining one more character for gamers to choose from, and this character has a rather interesting story to tell us. So far, there has only been an introductory video released to YouTube, which is used to expand on the game’s already extensive lore and provide us with information on the character.

From what we see in the trailer, this new character will be known as Conduit, and she has a rather interesting story that connects both the worlds of Apex Legends and Titanfall. For those who didn’t know, it has always been public knowledge that both of these games are linked together and share a world, but there hasn’t been a character that links the games so clearly together.

When we first get a glimpse at Conduit, she is still a child who is caught up in a battle between two factions. This led to a titan battle as numerous enemy titans began to assault the village she lived in, but one singular titan came down to save them, and this titan was called Monarch.

After making the final sacrifice of self-detonation, many years passed, and after seeing her family go through hardships, Conduit decided to take action. After interacting with the titan’s core, she was infected with abilities that we do not know anything about, except that they left her scarred with a constant blue glow in her veins, like lightning going up her arm.

Now Conduit has the ability to enter the Apex Games in an effort to make money for her family so they can continue with their lives. Hopefully, with these new abilities, there will be some unique skills that can breathe new life into Apex Legends.

What Reaction Did This Trailer Receive from Fans of Apex Legends and Titanfall 2?

Back in 2014, gamers were first introduced to Titanfall and its major titan combat, which kept players going for many years after. Especially when Titanfall 2 was released in 2016 and has kept a steady player base even to this day, as there have even been updates to the game recently to fix an error in the matchmaking system.

Before this trailer’s release, players were under the impression that there could be a Titanfall 3 in the works, as there was some information pointing towards it. Unfortunately, these theories fell flat, as it is only a Titanfall collaboration character that is now being released.

This is still good news, as many gamers who have seen this trailer have begun to get very nostalgic for the Titanfall days and want a revival in the franchise more than ever. Since this new character has a link to both Apex Legends and Titanfall, it is clear that Respawn is still invested in both franchises and will hopefully bring a new game out in due time.

Watching this trailer has brought back many fond memories for gamers, as many have already begun to talk about some of their favourite moments from both franchises. Such as BT from Titanfall risking its life for the player character in Titanfall 2, just like Monarch has done for Conduit.

For now, though, we do not know whether this will expand into a brand-new sequel to Titanfall or if it will end with Apex Legends, but gamers are hoping for more. We also do not know much, bar this small introductory video, but as the update gets closer, there will most likely be more information released.
