Daredevil started its marketing and promotional campaign by releasing a new trailer and a poster that consists of references from the Bible and religious iconography.
The latest Daredevil season 3 poster reveals a really interesting visual Easter egg: look carefully and you’d notice the Avengers Tower in the New York City skyline.
The Avengers Tower is clearly visible once you enhance the picture though it’s slightly visible even without enhancing it. It’s a nice connection to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe which would ultimately turn out to be a frivolous one. Since the beginning, MCU movies have been kept separate from the Marvel‘s Netflix Universe, including only very superficial cross-references.
Netflix has always been very careful about referencing anything that causes too much scrutiny as even a thing like the Avengers Tower can convolute the continuity of the universe.

All Marvel shows like Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist appear to be set before the events of the Avengers: Infinity War and presumably Daredevil‘s season 3 will also be set before Infinity War. However, as stated in a sub-plot in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the Avengers sold the iconic tower and moved upstate. So still seeing the Avengers logo on the tower does raise some important questions about the continuity of the series. Although, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Netflix Marvel Universe are really disconnected so the answer to this is to not think too hard and just enjoy it as a fun Easter egg. Many Marvel fans hope to see both the “universes” getting more significant crossovers one day, and while it’s very unlikely, it might just happen soon with the launch of Disney‘s upcoming streaming service.
The religious iconography and bible quotes on the poster hint at the “Born Again” storyline from the comics, which is supposedly the inspiration for season 3. For those who do not know, the story arc sees Kingpin learning about Matt Murdock’s true identity and destroying his life as both, a civilian and superhero. Kingpin eventually unleashes a mad Daredevil imitator to smear his name. Season 3 will also reportedly bring in new characters like Sister Maggie and will also include a church battle between Daredevil and Bullseye.
Created by Drew Goddard, Marvel’s Daredevil stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Wilson Bethel in an unknown role, and Jay Ali as Rahul “Ray” Nadeem, with notable appearances from Amy Rutberg as Marci Stahl, Danny Johnson as Benjamin Donovan, Annabella Sciorra as Rosalie Carbone, and Geoffrey Cantor as Mitchell Ellison.
The first season sees lawyer-by-day Matt Murdock use his heightened senses from being blinded as a young boy to fight crime at night on the streets of New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood as Daredevil, while uncovering a conspiracy of the criminal underworld being led by Wilson Fisk. In the second season, Murdock continues to balance life as a lawyer and Daredevil, while crossing paths with Frank Castle / Punisher, a vigilante with far deadlier methods, as well as the return of an ex-girlfriend—Elektra Natchios.
You can find the first two seasons of Daredevil streaming on Netflix, while season 3 will premiere on October 19th.
