DC’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League got its first gameplay trailer earlier this year, and the game will be released globally in a few months’ time, on February 2, 2024. The game has already drawn a lot of ire from gamers about the game’s online requirement and the live-service battle pass, among other features that didn’t go down well with the gamers.
A new leaked post has dropped several new details about the game that explain what gamers can expect from an upcoming trailer for the game. From revealing the cost of the Deluxe Edition to the in-game graphics detailed in the game, read on to learn what has been leaked so far.
New Details Leaked for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
A Reddit post has detailed what was showcased in the upcoming trailer for Rocksteady Games’ upcoming title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, based on DC characters. According to the post with the leaked information, the trailer states the game will have a day and night cycle and real-time weather changes; however, it was mentioned that both features were not demoed in the trailer.
Moving away from Gotham, where the previous games in the series featuring Batman’s crusades were all set, the game is set to take place in Metropolis. The city of Metropolis featured in the game is said to be twice the size of Gotham from the previous title in the series, Arkham Knight.
The trailer also seems to confirm that players can play the game in online co-op mode or take on the entire game by themselves and switch between the four characters featured in the game, though there was no mention or a demo of seamless switching. The trailer also seems to specify that players will have the freedom to play the game the way they wish to.
Each of the four characters was said to have their own distinct traversal and combat techniques, as the trailer also revealed Deadshot will have more gunplay-focused combat while the others are more melee-focused. The trailer also did not mention anything about microtransactions or health points for characters.
Rocksteady is also said to be working on one year of post-launch content, which will see new characters and missions added to the game. The game is said to cost $69.99 for the Day One Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which will let gamers start playing three days early. The Deluxe Edition will also give players battle pass points and extra costumes.
DC Fans and Gamers Are Not as Excited for the Game as the Arkham Series
The DC game has been delayed several times, which might be one of the reasons that fans are yet to be as hyped as they were for recent titles. The post that spilled the leaked details on Reddit had several fans chiming in with their comments, but not many were excited about the game’s eventual release next year.
A fan commented that they “completely forgot about this game,” and since it will be nine years since Arkham Knight‘s release by the time the upcoming game gets released, another fan commented on how Rocksteady could have produced at least a couple more “single-player games in that time.”
Another user listed games by FromSoftware that have come out in those nine years which include Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 along with all the DLCs, Sekiro, Elden Ring, and the recently released Armored Core 6. All of these single-player games have gone on to be quite successful for the studio, which has got fans hoping Rocksteady’s upcoming game proves fruitful enough for the time spent in the game.
The game’s always-online mode is still being disliked by fans who are otherwise tempted to grab the game on launch day. The game will also mark Kevin Conroy’s final performance before his unfortunate departure, voicing his iconic Batman character.
DC released a teaser to the game that revealed Batman in the game for the first time, back in December 2022. Ending with Conroy’s voice-over as the Dark Knight himself, the teaser ended with the message “Thank You, Kevin.”
