Bandai Namco has confirmed that Microsoft Xbox Series S will not run Naruto X Boruto Ninja Storm Connections at 60fps. The company released details of the resolution and frame rate of the game on different consoles and looks like Series X users will have the option to block matchmaking with Series S users. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will run the game at 60fps at 1440p whereas last-generation consoles; PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will run the game at 30fps with varied resolutions as per their hardware capacity and to everyone’s shock Series X is locked on 30fps at 1440p.

Though Xbox users can easily play against each other, Series X users will be locked at 30fps when they play against last-generation players. Hence, the reason why Bandai Namco will let Xbox Series X users block matchmaking with 30fps consoles is to give players an immersive 60fps gaming experience across all modes.

The Feature to block Series S users is Optional

Bandai Namco America termed this feature important for players who want to get out of 30fps and prefer playing at 60fps. The company has also said that this matchmaking feature is completely optional and if players do not want to be restricted to selected few players on Series X, they can easily turn the feature off.

This was also seen in CyberConnect 2’s Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles when the developers skipped 60fps on the Series S console but the online modes in the game were limited to 30fps to give a fair advantage against each other. While the feature to block matchmaking is good for players looking for an excellent gaming experience, this also highlights Microsoft’s problem regarding the hardware differences between the Xbox Series X and Series S.
