Nicolas Cage Will Play Spider-Man Noir In Upcoming Live- Action Series

Marvel fans were treated to the exciting news about the franchise’s latest venture involving Nicolas Cage. The superhero, who is an alternate version of Peter Parker, is a darker take on the character who lives in New York during the era of the Great Depression. Seen as a tough-as-nails detective, the lore goes that he gets bitten by a venomous spider inside a spider idol while investigating a smuggling ring. As a hardened vigilante, he wages a lone war against the crime lords of the city to avenge the death of his uncle Ben Parker.

According to an analysis by Daniel Richtman (via Murphy’s Multiverse), the Ghost Rider star will allegedly portray an aging private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to juggle his personal and professional life and all the challenges that come with it. Based on Richtman’s report, Cage may possibly play Ben Reilly, who is known as the Scarlet Spider in the comic books, and is seen as a clone of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man.

These though, will remain speculations for the time being until Marvel and Amazon confirm the details formally. Until then, fans will be eagerly imagining the exciting possibilities that Cage could bring to the table with this character.

While there has been no official announcement about who Gleeson would be portraying in the series, popular movie insider Daniel Richtman’s reports about the narrative (via Murphy’s Multiverse) involving Noir’s confrontation with dreaded crime boss Silvermane, could suggest that the Irish star may possibly play this chilling villain.

While Silvermane has not prominently featured in any live-action versions, the villain has been a pivotal character in the 1994’s Spider-Man: The Animated Series, in which he appeared in 6 episodes. He is seen as a ruthless and corrupt street-level crime lord whose obsession with power makes him a more relatable foe, and a formidable antagonist.
