Nightmare Dungeons in Diablo IV Make the Toughest Grinds Now Far Easier

The Diablo franchise is one of the biggest RPG franchises of all time. It’s newest entry, Diablo IV, is one of the biggest releases both of the year and in Blizzard Entertainment’s history! This long awaited sequel finally released earlier this month, and players didn’t waste anytime beginning the long process of grinding their character levels and equipping the best gear available.

Even with the game being received well and the amount of players continuously growing, many new and current players are all in agreement that the process of grinding in the game is an undesirable feature. Grinding in an RPG is never a fun thing to do. Spending hours at a time just to reach a certain level, beat a certain boss, or obtain a certain item can be draining for players. Some players may even quit playing for that reason. Fortunately for Diablo players that issue may have been resolved.

Diablo IV is no Longer a GRIND to Get Through

Diablo IV’s latest patch solves the grind for XP. Blizzard has buffed the XP you gain from completing Nightmare Dungeons. Once you finish the main campaign and have cleared out the first Capstone Dungeon at level 50, you can enter World Tier 3 otherwise known as Nightmare Difficulty. Enemies will drop Nightmare Sigils, an item that works as essentially a one-day pass for specific Nightmare Dungeons.

Nightmare Sigils allow you to teleport to that specific dungeon whenever. Nightmare Dungeons contain high-level enemies with unique traits (increased attack speed, spawn pools of poison, etc.), and making it to the end of these dungeons rewards players with legendary and unique items as well as Glyph XP for your Paragon Board.

This patch has increased the amount of XP for completing the Nightmare Dungeons and killing the monsters in them by a significant margin. On top of this, Blizzard has also fixed the issue that prevented players from gaining XP from the “hold out style” after completing a dungeon’s unique objective. Completing objectives for the Whispers of the Dead also grants more XP. All of this gets rid of what many may consider the biggest grid of Diablo IV, getting from level 50 to level 100. While they’re are many players that’ve made to this point, for those who’ve yet to reach that level now don’t have to put as much work into getting there.

The XP change will also have an impact on Diablo IV’s seasons. The first season will be releasing next month and will require players to create a new character, but thanks to the buff in XP it won’t be as much of a grind.

Diablo IV’s Grind is Over!

Diablo IV

With this latest patch Diablo IV has solved a problem that many RPGs have. This makes Diablo IV stand out from other RPGs, and maybe puts them above all others. This also helps the game stand out in general. On its own it became the fastest selling game in Blizzard Entertainment history. It sold $666 million within just 5 days of it’s release.

That just tells you how much people love these games and will play them regardless of the grinding, however with this patch you have made it easier for long time players but also for newcomers to Diablo and to RPGs in general. Hopefully this is something that other RPGs can incorporate otherwise Diablo will reign supreme! Are you a fan of Diablo? Does this latest update make you love playing the game even more?
