The tale of Kate Winslet not liking Titanic’s hit Ballard by Celine Dion is old news now. She had revealed her sentiments for the same during Titanic’s 3-D release promotions in 2012 (via Yahoo!). In the context of the song, the actress didn’t hold back and added:

Like throwing up. (Further) No, I shouldn’t say that … No, actually, I do feel like throwing up. I wish I could say, ‘Oh listen, everybody! It’s the Celine Dion song!’ But I don’t. I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll.

After Kate Winslet’s statement, the internet started buzzing with headlines. And the same was brought in front of Celine Dion to get her reaction as well (via Billboard.com). To everyone’s surprise the singer revealed her thoughts in a lighthearted manner and added, “Thank God she didn’t have to sing it!”

But the singer was seen visibly upset when the same topic was brought to her on the Today Show (via Vulture) as well. This event happened just days after Winslet had expressed her nausea to the world. She added in the same manner as her previous interview:

If I just count how many times I’ve sung it, maybe it’ll get me sick…If she feels tired just hearing it, and, like, throwing up, I’m glad she was not the one singing it.

The matter was making rounds all over the news with a possible tension between Winslet and Dion. So, Titanic’s executive producer Jon Landau had to come forward to explain what the actress actually meant by her remarks on the song (via Jezebel). He added that he had a chat with Winslet, and her comments were nothing about the song but more about the situation of walking into a restaurant and hearing the song play every single time.

Further, the actress felt “she couldn’t get away from it.” The producer explained that Winslet’s apparent frustration with the song stemmed from the constant association with it. And she couldn’t get a moment of silence and peace without being reminded of the track. This repetition was what led to her statements rather than any animosity with Celine Dion.

Why Was Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Kissing Scene a Big Mess on Titanic?

Titanic played with everyone’s heartstrings with its amazing storyline and scenes. The actors displayed immense chemistry on the big screen. But filming the most iconic kissing scene of the movie was rather messy situation for DiCaprio and Winslet. The scene in question being the ‘I’m flying’ scene from the movie. The actress had revealed the same in a past interview with Vanity fair (via US Magazine) and added “Oh, this was a nightmare.”

Winslet’s reasoning behind calling it a nightmare stemmed from a combination of mishaps. She added that Leonardo DiCaprio was constantly laughing throughout the scene and further that she was also struggling to breath due to the corset. But all in all, despite these challenges on set, both the actors managed to pull off the scene beautifully. And with their impeccable chemistry transformed it into something that the audience still remembers till date.
